NEWPORT BEACH, Calif. – – Today Diane Dixon announced the endorsement of Assemblywoman Janet Nguyen in the campaign for State Assembly. Assemblywoman Janet Nguyen represents Orange County’s neighboring 72ndAssembly District.
“I’m excited about the candidacy of Diane Dixon. She is a proven campaigner and public servant,” said Assemblywoman Nguyen. “The economic impacts of the global pandemic are still being felt in California. Without more leaders willing to tackle the challenges we are facing, the economic downturn we are experiencing will be prolonged. I need leaders like Diane in Sacramento working with me to protect taxpayers, students, small businesses and bring relief to those in need.”
Dixon recently announced the pivotal endorsement of Republican Party leaders such as Assembly Republican Leader Marie Waldron, Orange County Assemblywoman Laurie Davies, and U.S. Representative Michelle Steel.
In 2020, Diane Dixon narrowly lost to Democrat Assemblymember Cottie Petrie-Norris by less than 1% (2,587 votes) of the vote. The election for the 74thAssembly District is expected to once again be one of the most competitive districts in the entire State of California in the 2022 election cycle.
